Ji Youn Lee began playing at the age of five. Her numerous successes in piano competitions include top prizes in the New England Conservatory Concerto Competition, Jacob Filer Piano Competition, Ewha Kyounghyang Music Competition, Korea Chopin Competition, and Ke'Alohi International Piano Competition (Honolulu). She has appeared in solo recitals and concert series at many venues in the United States and South Korea, including Jordan Hall, Alice Tully Hall, and the Seoul Arts Center. Ji Youn is also active as an avid chamber musician. Her quintet was the youngest semi-finalist at the Osaka International Chamber Music Competition and was selected as the first group of goodwill artists aiding Cambodian refugees. In addition to her conservatory studies, she has participated in Music Academy of the West, PianoSummer at SUNY New Paltz, the Orford Music Festival, the Bowdoin Festival and the Dino Ciani Festival. Ji Youn's undergraduate studies were at New England Conservatory under the tutelage of Dang Thai Son and HaeSun Paik. Currently she is pursuing a master degree in collaborative piano at The Juilliard School.
